Apply to be a
story Coach for 2026

Deadline for Applications July 31, 2025
Picture
The Author Development Program (ADP) is an opportunity for a Story Maker to work one-on-one with a Story Coach to bring their writing to the next level and that much closer to publication. A Story Maker will work through all or part of the manuscript with attention given to craft through critique and discussion, workshops and roundtable discussions gaining support, experience and knowledge from their Story Coach(es) and, on occasion, from other participants in the program.

Success of the program is contingent on that Story Maker/Story Coach relationship.

The Story Maker gets to choose their Story Coach.
Something that makes this program special from other similar programs, is that the Story Maker chooses who they want to work with. We do not pair people except in instances were we feel a different coach might be better suited to a maker. Successful inclusion in the line up of Story Coaches does not guarantee your participation in the program. Sell yourself in your application and your bio to our selection committee and to the potential Story Maker. Additionally, you do not have to accept a pairing if you don't feel it's a good fit.

All genres accepted. The more diverse the better.

Included Genres (hopefully): Novel (all genres), Memoir, Short Story Collection, Screenwriting, Playwriting, Poetry

The program ends with a reading and celebration that is usually in person, but depending on number of out of town participants, might be done virtually.
