“Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim.”
— Nora Ephron
Are you ready to look at your own life as the most epic story you may ever write? Maybe you are writing as a legacy for your kids. Maybe you want to share and publish your story, because the lessons you gleaned from your life’s trials might help others. Maybe you want to write it down, simply to make sense of what has happened to you.
Whatever your reason, your own story is asking to be written. And working with story structure will help you organize your memories and experiences so that they resonate with others. Learning how to write your memoir with the hero’s journey or heroine’s journey also makes it an emotionally satisfying read. When you share your life story with others so it can be felt and understood, it becomes the light we all need.
This class takes place in person at the Alexandra Writers Centre Society.
