SHARED AUTHORS' TABLE

The Shared Authors' Table in the Merchants Room is available to those authors whose books are not easily
accessible through our festival booksellers: Owl's Nest Books and Slow Burn Books.
The table is perfect if you are self-published, hybrid published, or your books are out of print.

PLEASE NOTE - IF YOU ARE A PRESENTER AND YOUR BOOKS ARE AVAILABLE TO ORDER DIRECT FROM A DISTRIBUTOR OR PUBLISHER BY OUR ONSITE BOOKSELLERS YOU DO NOT NEED TO APPLY.
WE WILL BE IN TOUCH AND WILL TAKE CARE OF THAT FOR YOU.

Thanks to everyone who has applied to be on the Shared Authors Table. We have closed applications as we currently have more books that room on the tables. If you already applied, we will be in touch shortly.

Applications will be accepted for the Shared Authors Table until July 31, 2024 or until the table is full (whichever comes first). While we would love to be able to take all authors books, there simply isn't the space. We will be giving preference to those who are confirmed presenters, panelists or moderators or part of a special event. Space will be opened to non-presenting festival guests if available.

Each author can have a max of 3 titles.
Pick your most relevant titles or most recent.
No more than 6 copies per title will be on the table at any time.
The stock you confirm in your application is the stock that you must bring. We will be electronically entering everything into our system before the festival.
You can leave a small amount of extra stock with us when you check in, however, once stock is checked in, those books stay with us for the duration of the festival. This is to avoid confusion over missing stock.
You are responsible for your own books. If you are traveling from out of town, bring only what you can carry, or find someone local who can receive your books. AWCS will not accept, store or transport any stock.
AWCS, When Words Collide, Delta Calgary South or any volunteers and staff will not be held responsible for missing or stolen stock.
Every author is expected to volunteer at the Shared Authors Table for at least 1 hour during the festival. A volunteer schedule will be sent out after authors and their books have been selected.
We have limited autograph spots available. If you would like one, let us know and we'll do our best to to schedule you in.
All author payments will be paid out the week after the festival by e-transfer from the Alexandra Writers Centre. Make sure all payment details are accurate and that you have reconciled with us at the end of the festival. Authors keep the full cover price of their book minus any Square sales fees.
