In this interactive and stress-free workshop, attendees will have a chance to get a sense of how poetic lines come together, and how to craft poems filled with sensory details by looking at book spine poetry and paint chip poetry! Bring your curiosity and be prepared to be surprised by how easily you can create a poem. This workshop will appeal to new and seasoned poets, as well as writers of creative non-fiction and fictional stories, as the activities also help to promote writing in these genres. Join award winning author Cristy Watson for a fun and creative workshop.
This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.
Cristy Watson is an award-winning author of eight novels for middle-grade and young-adult readers, as well as having poems appear in several magazines and anthologies. Since retiring from teaching she has been busy with editing and mentoring authors, and participating in writing contests like the Poetry Marathon, the three-day novel contest, and NAPOWRIMO. She also offers creative writing workshops, along with volunteering at writing conferences and judging writing contests.
