Your sentences are the heartbeat of your story. This intensive three-hour workshop is for writers of literary fiction who want to elevate their prose from functional to unforgettable. We will move beyond basic grammar to explore the musicality of language, focusing on rhythm, cadence, and the power of precise word choice. Through a series of guided exercises, you will learn to identify and eliminate clunky phrasing, craft sentences that resonate with subtext, and use sound to create mood. Leave with a sharpened ear and practical techniques to infuse every line of your work with intention and lyrical power.

This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.

Sage Tyrtle has taught over 150 writing workshops since 2010. Her work

is available in New Delta Review, The Offing, Lunch Ticket, and Apex

among others. Words featured on NPR, CBC, and PBS, and taught in

schools. Read more at www.tyrtle.com.
