There’s a lot you want to accomplish and a lot of ideas vying for your attention. Maybe they’re all shouting at once, keeping you from addressing any single one. Or maybe they’re all floating in the ether, hoping you’ll latch on. Either way, you might be left wondering, how will I ever finish a writing project if I can’t settle down to one idea?

In this workshop, you’ll brainstorm all the things you want to do, the timeframes you’re debating doing them in, and plot out how to prioritize them – all in a way that will help you to organize your aspirations. This isn’t another SMART-goals workshop: Using a template that allows for and depends upon flexibility as well as meeting you where you’re at right now, it’s an open-minded approach to helping you shift your hopes and dreams into your reality. We’ll work in a creative, compassionate framework that leaves room for flexibility, flow, and your beautifully non-linear brain. There will be opportunities to share – let’s inspire each other! – and to develop your own growth roadmap as the creative person you are.

For her capstone project in the InnerMBA leadership program, Tanya MacIntosh developed a Personal Plan of Action template. Originally created to manage her own long list of goals, the tool quickly resonated with colleagues who were craving a more human, intuitive approach to productivity. Recognizing that goals change as we change, or as our circumstances change, has been a powerful motivator for her to develop the idea further into a workshop to help others, especially creative folk like herself.

This class takes place online using Zoom.

Tanya MacIntosh is a queer author of speculative fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry with a BA in Creative Writing from York University. She put her writing, editing, and workshop facilitation skills to use in the corporate and retail worlds until she left in 2024 to follow her dream of writing full time. Her poetry and short fiction have won several prizes, as well as a Pushcart Prize nomination; you can find her work in Blank Spaces and its anthologies, Off Topic Publishing, and elsewhere. She was a participant in the Story Makers Author Development Program in 2025 and was accepted into the 2025-2026 Chapter by Chapter cohort. Tanya has lived, studied, and written in Toronto, Quebec City, Jerusalem, and Calgary which is now home. Gigi, her rescue dog, generously shares the house with her.
