Landing a literary agent starts with one thing: your query package. In this 5-week course, participants will learn how to craft a strong query letter, synopsis, author bio, and polished pitch materials. Each week balances teaching, examples, and feedback so writers can steadily build toward a complete, submission-ready package.

In the final week, we’ll pull everything together with Querying 101—covering research tools, submission strategies, and best practices for approaching agents. Writers will leave the course not only with polished materials, but also with a clear roadmap for querying.

This class takes place online using Zoom.

Chantel Pearson is an agented author with multiple novels currently on submission. She has degrees in Anthropology and Classical History and has experience teaching in academic settings. As a writer of colour, she often draws from her own culture and lived experiences, bringing authenticity to her storytelling. After successfully signing with her agent in under a month, Chantel discovered how much she loves helping other writers on their querying journeys and has supported multiple writers in building their query packages, offering encouragement, feedback, and mentorship along the way. With her blend of academic training, creative experience, and a commitment to inclusivity, Chantel aims to create a warm, supportive environment where writers from all backgrounds can thrive.
