One-Day Workshop | Wednesday, August 20, 2025

9am - 12pm PT | 10am-1pm MT | 11am-2pm CT | 12pm-3pm ET | 1pm-4pm AT

Instructor: Sage Tyrtle

MEMBER PRICE: $60.00

NON-MEMBER PRICE: $80.00

What if the real story isn’t the story at all? In this workshop, we’ll

mine the gaps—deleted scenes, background characters, and unresolved

aftermaths—to uncover narratives that traditional storytelling ignores.

Write the therapist’s notes for a fairy-tale villain. Draft the grocery

list left in the getaway car. Reveal the untold truth behind a personal

memory.

Takeaways:

  •   Identify and exploit the hidden potential in narrative margins
  •   Develop techniques for implied storytelling (what’s not said)
  •   Transform fragments into stand-alone pieces with emotional weight

For writers of fiction, memoir, and genre-defying work.

This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.

Sage Tyrtle has taught over 150 writing workshops since 2010. Her work

is available in New Delta Review, The Offing, Lunch Ticket, and Apex

among others. Words featured on NPR, CBC, and PBS, and taught in

schools. Read more at www.tyrtle.com.
