This 8-week course provides an opportunity for beginner and intermediate non-fiction writers to dip their toes into writing unconventional essays, to play with form and the blank page, and to experiment with essay styles like the braided essay, the Abecedarian, the Hermit Crab, and more. For writers who have the desire to experiment with style and form in non-fiction, and for those who are new to non-fiction and looking for a window into the genre, this course will provide you with an introduction into unconventional style and form, as well as the opportunity to work on your own essay writing. This course will include an assigned essay and response each week, as well as generative writing exercises and opportunities for sharing work and receiving feedback.
This class takes place online using Zoom.
