Exploring Writing with K-Grade 3 Students (Teachers' Edition)
(as seen at CCTC 2024 - Writing in the Air)
2.5 hours
Kids are natural storytellers. This program will give instructors of the primary grades the tools and resources to not only tap into and organize their students' plethora of ideas, but also explore writing related vocabulary and language. Teachers will explore the three core skills of story writing (Character Building, World Building, and Plotting) and learn how to teach these through fun, hands on activities, group storytelling, led practice, and finally pencil to paper story creation. Not only that, but the end result will encourage students to read and share the stories they create, encouraging language, spelling, and reading skills. This method of exploring writing with the younger grades is not only simple and straight forward, teachers don't need to be authors to create skilled writers.
