Creative Writing Basics Level One will introduce students to the basics of character, plot, dialogue and setting through discussion, free fall writing, practical writing exercises and mutual feedback. Students will learn about conflict, exposition, dramatic arc, world building and how to use literary devices in creative writing. This is a class for beginners who are setting out on their creative writing journey as well as writers wishing to refresh their skills.
This class takes place at the Alexandra Writers Centre Society (AWCS).
Leesa JoAnn Iverson writes to broaden perspective, create conversation, and foster compassion for ourselves and others. Leesa has a Visual Communication Design diploma. She belongs to the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the Leighton Art Center (LAT), and the Writers’ Guild of Alberta (WGA). Leesa credits the Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society (AWCS) with launching her writing odyssey.
