Over the course of this workshop, participants will learn what to prioritize when revising, editing, and proofreading their work. Tips on editing specific creative formats like scripts, dialogue, and poetry will be addressed. Learning the skills of self-editing is a key step in becoming a strong writer.
This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.
Cara Violini has undergraduate degrees in English and Education, an MA in Literary Studies, a Certificate in Creative Writing from U of C, an MFA in Creative Writing from UBC, and is currently working on her doctorate focusing on inclusive writing pedagogies. Cara taught English, composition, and creative writing for over 16 years, and now is a Writing Specialist at Athabasca University's writing center, where she works with students in the creative writing program. She's been published in FreeFall, Prairie Fire, and Arc Poetry, and received a Canada Council Grant for her current fiction manuscript.
