ONLINE Supernatural Detectives: Balancing Logic and the Paranormal in Mysteries
One-Day Workshop | Monday, February 10, 2025 | 6-9pm MT
Instructor: Bryce Raffle
MEMBER PRICE: $60.00
NON-MEMBER PRICE: $80.00
Detective fiction thrives on logic and reason—solving puzzles through observation, deduction, and hard evidence. But what happens when the rules of our world are disrupted by forces that defy logic? This workshop dives into the delicate balance of blending mystery/thrillers with supernatural elements. You’ll learn how to weave together two contrasting genres—grounded logic and the paranormal—to create mysteries where reason must confront the inexplicable. We’ll explore how to craft characters who navigate both worlds, unraveling crimes in a reality that can’t be fully explained by logic alone. Whether it’s ghosts, magic, or monsters, these otherworldly elements must follow their own internal rules, which we’ll develop together.
This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.
