This workshop introduces participants to the art and skills of oral storytelling. The workshop leader will present foundational information about the art form, provide instruction on how to write and shape an oral story, and allow participants to practice telling a story in a story sharing circle. Once they have attended the workshop, participants are welcome to be part of the StoryShare Legacy Project where our videographer will record their story or interview them - online or in person. The video is then edited with music and pictures for the client to share with family and friends and, with the client's approval, the greater community through the Storytelling Alberta YouTube channel.
NOTE: This class is free for AWCS Members 55 and older (through Storytelling Alberta’s StoryShare Project with funding from the Calgary Seniors Resource Society) If you are a non-member and/or under 55 years of age, please contact our office to arrange payment ($45.00) info@alexandrawriters.org
