How many times have you read a mystery novel and thought 'I know how this will end' only to be proven right? Crime and mystery fiction continues to be one of the most read, most commercially successful genres of creative writing. Millions of stories are sold around the world every month dealing with everything from serial killers to fraud, extortion and general criminality. And we all love it, right?
This course introduces you to the basic building blocks of mystery and crime fiction writing. From coming up with believable plots, vicious killers and know-it-all detectives, to deciding which style of the genre you want to write in. You'll learn about plotting, red herrings, how to create intriguing stories and twists that will have readers guessing all the way to last page.
And as a word of warning from a crime writer - your Google search history will never be the same again!
This class is an interactive online workshop using Zoom.
