The Query Letter has one purpose, and one purpose only: to entice the agent or editor into reading or requesting your work. Your Book Blurb is your main selling point.
For some writers, the query will represent a completely different way of thinking about their book—because it means thinking about one’s work as a product to be sold. How you effectively “sell” your book with your blurb can help make or break your query.
This workshop focuses on query letters for fiction, creative non-fiction (such as essay collections), and poetry. We will look at the steps to building a solid query letter, discuss what makes a strong blurb and study examples while workshopping our own blurbs.
This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.
