Stage Fright and The Public: What happens after you get published?
One often sees writers pictured in literature and film as solitary creatures hiding in a cabin typing away at a manuscript for years. What happens when your book becomes published? Is the story no longer yours? In this seminar, we will discuss becoming an author, a public figure of sorts and handling negative reviews, and dealing with harassment and expectations from readers. Other subjects explored: how do you support your fellow authors, take care of your mental health, use social media as a means for 25 book promotion, as well as how to work effectively with your editor, agent, publicity and marketing team.
