Join an inspiring and supportive creative writing atmosphere designed exclusively for adults 45 and older. Whether you’ve already got an ongoing project or just beginning your journey, this workshop environment is a chance to spark your imagination, share your voice, craft your stories and connect with others exploring artistic expression through words. With guided exercises, engaging prompts, and constructive feedback, we’ll help you create compelling narratives.
This is an in person class that takes place at the Alexandra Writers Centre Society.
Stephen Price writes and teaches writing on Treaty 7 territory, which he grew up calling Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He is particularly interested in helping late bloomers, those who have taken up writing late in life after they have finished their careers. He was a classroom teacher for thirty years. When he retired in 2019, his students, who he often wrote stories for, encouraged him to continue writing. He has had prose and poetry published in The Militant Grammarian, 10x10 Flash, Passengers Journal, 365tomorrows, Confetti, Bommer Lit, The New Quarterly and The Downtime Review. The editors of The Downtime Review nominated his story for a Pushcart Prize.
