Kickstart Your Memoir offers the tools and hands on experience you need to begin or carry on with your life story. Whether you want to use memoir for self-reflection and discovery, grieving and healing, to bring meaning to your life, to become famous, or to create a legacy for your family, you will fit right in as a beginner or seasoned pro.
When designing courses, Sharon draws from a unique combination of her ground-breaking research and journal writing techniques developed when completing her MA in life writing and certification as a journal writing facilitator in the U.S. She has been teaching memoir writing to students across the globe for almost two decades.
Sharon has ghostwritten six memoirs. Her work as a journalist has been widely published in Canadian newspapers and magazines and her memoir writing has appeared in anthologies.

Sharon Pearce-McLeay's unique approach to memoir writing comes from a broad background in journalism, academic life writing research and journal writing. She has a Masters in English Literature--with a focus on life writing--and completed my certification as a journal writing facilitator (CJF).
Her work as a journalist has appeared in both the public and business press and her completed ghostwritten memoirs are listed on the My Books page. She is also working on life story ghostwriting projects for Story Terrace in the US.
Teaching and coaching memoir writing is an important part of Sharon's work. She offers in person workshops and online courses for clients around the world and in past have taught English and public relations at the University of Calgary and Mount Royal College. She is a faculty member with Calgary’s Alexandra Writers Society and with the Therapeutic Writing Institute in Denver, Co. She lives close to the Rockies in Cochrane, Alberta with her husband, a dog who thinks he’s the boss, and a cat who knows she’s the boss. sharonpearcemcleay.com
