Rewards, Risks & Recommendations
Motherlines can be rich resources for creative inspiration, yet their reach is not always linear and can often be tangled. Informed by Creative Writing PhD by practice research, this workshop provides information about experienced ‘real’ and perceived ‘potential’ rewards and risks of – and recommendations for – exploring motherlines in and through creative writing.
Prompted by creative writing exercises, participants will explore, reflect on, share and discuss (at their discretion) the richness of motherlines as herstorical sources of story and creative inspiration, as well as the potential practical, ethical and emotional aspects and impact of writing into and about motherlines.
This is an in person class held at the Alexandra Writers Centre Society.
