MEMBER PRICE: $135.00 (with member coupon AWCSM25)

In this 4-week workshop we will explore the making or creation process of writing longer or prose poems using Ekphrastic prompts and then we’ll explore mending our words by putting them to work. From the history and value of Ekphrastic Poetry with time spent each week working on creating new poems from various prompts, we'll take a deep dive into the editing process and the poet’s necessity to do work beyond the surface. We’ll discuss considerations around nuance, subject, form, and voice. Poets will begin work on editing a poem from week one or two in class. By the end we’ll gather our words and put them to work using techniques like alliteration, enjambments and white space.
This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.
