Just starting out? Had some success and stalled?
In this 4-week online workshop, Holly Schofield will guide you through the multiple skill sets needed to take a speculative idea and turn it into a story. Learn about story promise, internal and external conflict, setting-character-plot interconnections, tenses and POV implications, and finding your voices(plural!), as well as revision techniques, story markets and submission tips, self-motivation, and more.
Each student will turn in very short assignments at the start of each session, to be discussed in class. By the end of the class, each student will have set specific goals and created a plan of action.
This workshop welcomes adult writers of any level who have a keen interest in writing short speculative fiction.
This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.
