When thinking of critiques, most writers immediately think of an in-depth, structured protocol, but there are many ways to critique, depending on the writer’s purposes: a free-ranging discussion, a Three-Stars focus on what works, Author-Led, or Topic-Led. Some writers benefit best from a Reader’s Critique which only provides the reader’s reactions, while others seek suggestions—even brainstorming. Come to this critique-based course with a partially or fully complete fiction project to experience several different types of critique.
This class take place in person at the Alexandra Writers’ Centre in Calgary.
