IN PERSON Blackout Poetry Marathon
10am - 3:30pm
Instructor: Laurie Fuhr
MEMBER PRICE: $78.75 (with member coupon AWCSM25)
NON-MEMBER PRICE: $105.00
Do you love blackout poetry – or does it seem like you would, if given a chance – or, say, almost a whole day to immerse yourself in creating a chapbook manuscript or future book section of blackout poems? Suggested by members of Poetry Café, this class will provide space, time, techniques, and public domain texts o’ plenty to make blackouts by hand, on your computer, or a combination of both. Collaborate with others on some pieces to add variety, or blaze your own trail. If you choose, create a one-off booklet of handmade blackouts to take home.
This class takes place in person at the Alexandra Writers’ Centre in Calgary.
