Join award-winning author Robert Sawyer and learn his insights on building a novel from topic, to theme, to plot, to character—with picking your theme being the lynch pin of it all: developing the high-concept core idea—the thing you want to say—and using that as the springboard for your novel. The biggest bestsellers—including the late Michael Crichton, Dan Brown, and John Grisham—all are thematically driven.

This workshop takes place IN PERSON at the Alexandra Writers Centre Society.

For all levels of writers interested in learning how to identify your story's theme(s) and how you can build a more polished novel out of it.

Robert was listed in Quill & Quire's “The 30 Most Influential, Innovative, and Just Plain Powerful People in Canadian Publishing.” Only two other authors made that list: Margaret Atwood and Douglas Coupland (March 2008 issue.)
