Dialogue a little on the stiff side? Characters all sounding the same? In this intensive crash course, we’ll break down the mechanics of authentic, character-driven dialogue that pops off the page. Explore subtext, pacing, dialect, and how to balance realism with readability. Includes in-class readings, writing prompt exercises, and a few “actors-at-a-table-read” moments that will likely prove to be legendary performances.
This class takes place online using Zoom.
Andrew Buckley is a storyteller, educator, and keynote speaker with over 20 years of experience in creative writing and marketing. His humorous and satirical writing style persists despite polite requests to stop, as he creates engaging speculative fiction across traditional and self-publishing platforms.
