One-Day Workshop | Friday, September 11, 2026 | 10am-2pm MT

Instructor: Robin van Eck

MEMBER PRICE: $50.00

NON-MEMBER PRICE: $100.00

Spend a few hours getting to know your characters in a way you never thought possible. Character development is arguably the most important element to creating a great story. If you don't have characters that your readers can connect with, empathize with, or care about, the story can fall flat on its face. In this session, you will become your character; you will explore every facet of their being and uncover what makes them special and unique and flawed and loveable. Take a chance. You will be surprised.

Be prepared to write. Pen and paper or laptop is a must.

At the end there will be time for questions and discussion of some of the things you learned about your characters and how you can use these moving forward.

This workshop takes place IN PERSON at the Alexandra Writers Centre Society
