Learn the art of the short story this fall. Through lecture, discussion, writing exercises and reading the works of such greats as George Saunders, Haruki Murakami, Kurt Vonnegut, Flannery O'Connor, Junot Diaz, Yoko Ogawa and more, students will learn and develop their skills in the craft of short fiction to create a piece of their own.


This class is for anyone interested in the short story form.


This class takes place IN PERSON at the Alexandra Writers Centre Society.

 

Robin van Eck writes fiction and creative nonfiction. Her short work has appeared in Solstice in Purgatory and Forbidden Fruit from The Seventh Terrace, The Phare (UK), WonderShift, Very Much Alive (The Selkie UK), LampLight Magazine, Woven Tales Press, Waiting Anthology (UofA Press, 2018), FreeFall Magazine, Freshwater Pearls Anthology (Recliner Books, 2011), Prairie Journal, Crack the Spine, Maudlin House, Minerva Rising, Alberta Views and various other online and print publications both in Canada and internationally.
