One-Day Workshop | Saturday, April 11, 2026 | 10am-12:30pm MT

Instructor: Manpreet Singh Dhaliwal

MEMBER PRICE: $50.00

NON-MEMBER PRICE: $75.00

This workshop invites writers to explore creativity through three timed writing experiences: a 10-minute poem, a 5-minute poem, and a 3-minute poem. Each prompt encourages participants to bypass perfectionism and connect directly with their intuitive, emotional voice. After each round, we reflect on where the mind went, why certain images surfaced first, and how creativity behaves when we trust it fully.

This class tends to be a surprising and liberating experience for both new and experienced writers. Many discover that their most honest writing emerges not when they plan, but when they simply allow themselves to respond.

This class takes place IN PERSON at the Alexandra Writers' Centre.

Manpreet Singh Dhaliwal is a Punjabi–English poet and creative instructor based in Calgary. His work blends emotional storytelling with bilingual expression and reaches more than 13,000 readers across social platforms. He has taught creative writing workshops in Edmonton and London, Ontario, and previously served as Director of the Baithak Cultural Foundation of Alberta, where he curated the Leela Festival celebrating Punjabi poets Navtej Bharati and Ajmer Rode. His teaching focuses on intuitive writing, emotional clarity, and helping participants uncover a creative voice they didn’t know they had.
