This five-week workshop series will examine FOUND POETRY: poetry that comes into being through other sources (titles, text, poetry) and pays homage to our favourite poets! Each week, a different type of FOUND POETRY will be explored through examples, books on crafting found poems, and prompts for writing them.
Attendees will not only be exposed to great works in these sub-genres of FOUND POETRY but will also have opportunities to create their own FOUND POEMS. Join facilitator Cristy Watson for five weeks of creating poetry during National Poetry Month.
This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.
Cristy Watson is an award-winning author of eight novels for middle-grade and young-adult readers, as well as having poems appear in several magazines and anthologies. Since retiring from teaching she has been busy with editing and mentoring authors, and participating in writing contests like the Poetry Marathon, the three-day novel contest, and NAPOWRIMO. She also offers creative writing workshops, along with volunteering at writing conferences and judging writing contests.
