Instructor: Cristy Watson

MEMBER PRICE: $40.00

What better time to look at various FORMS of poetry, than National Poetry Month? If you have wondered about old and new forms of poetry, this workshop is for you. We will look at the Abecedarian, the Golden Shovel, Ekphrastic Poetry, the Gigan, and the Pantoum. The exploration of FORM will include a definition of the form, poetic examples of the form, and an opportunity for attendees to create poetry to each form (with various prompts and other aids to inspire one’s work). Join facilitator Cristy Watson for an inFORMative workshop where you will have an opportunity to play with poetry!

This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.

Cristy Watson is an award-winning author of eight novels for middle-grade and young-adult readers, as well as having poems appear in several magazines and anthologies. Since retiring from teaching she has been busy with editing and mentoring authors, and participating in writing contests like the Poetry Marathon, the three-day novel contest, and NAPOWRIMO. She also offers creative writing workshops, along with volunteering at writing conferences and judging writing contests.
