3rd Prize Winner, Writes of Summer - Drabble Edition; Prompt: Wrong Answers Only
Picture
What kind of hats do deer wear?

The skulls of men:

Bleached clean in the sun, scraped smooth on the rocks,

Insides scooped out with a meticulous deer hoof.

The gooey contents deposited into the river to feed the fish, to give back to the earth.

Once cleaned, the skull gets cracked and broken into shape to fit snugly over their soft ears.

Then lastly, decorated with sticky and verdant moss to flaunt their status.

They traipse around the forest,

Looking for tea parties and picnics to crash,

While looking exquisitely dapper in their new attire,

Waiting to be complimented.
