For Teachers

Whether you need new ideas for engaging students in specific ELA units or want to enhance creative collaboration skills generally in your classroom or school, we got you!

We're also happy to work with you to create custom PD Day content that fits with the theme of your School Development Plan.

Some of the topics we tackle include:
  • The Dreaded Group Project – How to turn group projects from traumatic to fantastic by employing creative collaboration strategies that actually work (and improve classroom culture too!)
  • Slam Poetry - Make poetry fun, competitive, and (if you like) enter a team in a local poetry slam
  • Poetry Analysis and Creation - Blasting through the poetry unit to avoid the grumbles? Learn more about teaching poetry styles, devices, plus student-friendly analysis techniques.
  • Story Structure - Whether teaching early writers (K-3) or older students, teach with an accessible and sequential method which takes students through building their characters, world, and plot (including theme).
  • Personal Essays and Journaling (with the option to focus on ESL students) - Take journaling to a whole new level, then use it to create grade-appropriate personal narratives (or tall tales).
  • Playwriting OR Writing for Film (plus how to take your writing from page to stage/screen)
  • And of course, anything you'd like to know about teaching Research, Creative Writing, Journalism, Book Reports, Essay Planning (and more!)

We're happy to work with you to develop a custom program – just let us know what you've got in mind!
