The Art of Persuasion
As writers we are heavily invested in the art of persuasion. Not only must we persuade people to read our stories, we also want them to be moved by our storylines, to emotionally invest in our characters, and to root for their success. This doesn’t just happen by accident. In this workshop, we’ll learn some techniques to help us arouse and hold the attention of the reader. From great beginnings and endings to points in between, we’ll focus on ways to breathe life into our writing and to persuade readers to stay with us. Bring a pen, paper, and favourite novel with you, and together, we’ll search for the gold.
