The Author Herein grants to the Publisher…

The first words of a book contract are music to a writer’s ears.  You’ve made it! You’re going to be published!  But wait!  There are other words to read, and they specify the work that you must do before the heart-stopping moment when you open the box filled with author copies of the novel that you’ve always dreamed of writing. Using the journey from first draft to publication of my 20th novel An Image In The Lake as a guide, this course will explore the steps the writer must take before publication and the strategies that will ensure success.

This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.

An Image in the Lake is the twentieth novel in Gail Bowen’s Joanne Kilbourn Shreve mystery series. Bowen has also written four Charlie Dowhanuik novellas for Orca books. Sleuth: Gail Bowen on Writing Mysteries was published in March, 2018. Bowen has written plays for CBC Radio and for theatrical production across Canada. She lives in Regina with her husband Ted.
