ONLINE Sustainable Self-Care for Artists & Writers
Are you feeling burned out and disconnected? This class will help you to establish sustainable self-care practices in order to get back to creating and writing. Using a variety of techniques, we will enter the world of self-care to build personalized practices to improve our mental and emotional health. We discuss principles of mindfulness meditation, habit building, non-violent communication, and self-compassion. You will leave with a solid collection of personalized activities for your toolbox and objects to curate your own self-care kit. This workshop will give you a sense of confidence and skill in increasing your positive mental health which will allow you to shine in all areas of your life, writing and creativity included.

Stefani Alzati is an award-winning classical guitarist, spoken word poet, and storyteller (as well as an author of three books). She has a background in psychology, social work, and teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL). She incorporates theories of mindfulness meditation, non-violent communication, and self-care into her workshops and courses. She has taught workshops on topics of well-being for the Edmonton Resilience Festival, NAIT, and various EAL conferences. Stefani’s experience working in Student Counselling informed her second book, Forest Talks: an interactive book of growth and healing. She holds certificates in trauma-informed practices such as Mental Health First Aid, Advanced (DBT) Skills, and First Responder to Sexual Assault and Abuse.
