ONLINE Poetry In Pyjamas
In your pyjamas? No Prob! Let’s hang out together, home alone writing poems! Each week we’ll write one classic form or style. Each two-hour class is streamlined for success; there’ll be time to finish the poem du jour and get feedback. Last class is the poetry reading party. You might even want to shed pyjamas and get dressed up! We’ll share our newest poems and our favourite poets. Poetry forms examined will include Aubade, Memoriam Stanza, Rubiyat, Haibun, and Analyzed Rhyme.
This is an interactive course using the Zoom web conferencing platform.
Jade O’Riley teaches many poetry forms and styles and developed an editing method entitled Poet’s Toolbox to help poets gain writing confidence. Since 2007 Jade has taught poetry in several venues including City of Edmonton, Poetry Festival and Stroll of Poets; she’s published fifteen poetry chapbooks featuring the poets from her classes.
