Your opening chapter builds the foundation for your novel.  Making the right choices about narrative perspective; protagonist; secondary characters; setting; plot; structure and style will determine whether your manuscript is accepted by a publisher or ends up, forgotten, in the bottom drawer of your desk. This class will guide you into making the choices that will give your novel the best chance of publication.

This is an interactive online class using the Zoom web platform.

An Image in the Lake is the twentieth novel in Gail Bowen’s Joanne Kilbourn Shreve mystery series. Bowen has also written four Charlie Dowhanuik novellas for Orca books. Sleuth: Gail Bowen on Writing Mysteries was published in March, 2018. Bowen has written plays for CBC Radio and for theatrical production across Canada. She lives in Regina with her husband Ted.
