The UK Guardian’s yearly BAD SEX AWARD shortlist has been topped by famous writers from John Updike to Haruki Murakami. This is one award, however, no writer wants to win! So how to avoid the dubious honour? A workshop for writers who want to have fun and let down their guard while doing some serious investigating. We’ll spend the day immersing ourselves in sex scenes that work, others that don’t, and discovering together why. We’ll identify what elements help create a brilliant and resonating scene before turning to our own. Ready? Let’s take the leap!

This class takes place in person at the Alexandra Writers’ Centre in Calgary.
