When readers look back on the stories they love, they think of scenes. Scenes are the basic building blocks of a chapter or act: They move the story forward; divide it into digestible units; and keep readers engaged, asking, What happens next? As Ralph Waldo Emerson, says, “The writer is an explorer. Every step is an advance into a new land.” Taking small steps, journeying into a new land, is the essence of scene writing. Join me in this four-week course as we experiment with several types of scenes and link them together to move our stories and our writing forward.

This is an interactive online course using the Zoom web conferencing platform.
