Difficult Memoir Refresh
Sometimes when we take a course, we write like crazy and are thoroughly engaged. Then we finish the course and put our notebooks aside. Do you want a kick-start to continue writing your memoir? A refresher?
This course will build on the skills learned in the longer course and add to your writing skills and the journey of change and transformation you want to write about. We will tackle dialogue, character sketches, scene setting, and your story arc – using parts of your own story.
Three recommended readings are: “The Memoir Project” by Marion Roach Smith, “Why We Write about Ourselves” Ed. Meredith Maran and “Your Life as Story” by Tristine Rainer.
Prerequisite – You have participated in the 8-week course, “Memoir Writing for People with Difficult Stories to Tell”
Karen Lee has published a memoir, The Full Catastrophe, 2016, She Writes Press, California. You can find out more information on her website: http://karenelee-author.com/index.html
