COURSES & WORKSHOPS

Our Courses & Workshops

Our courses and workshops are designed to support writers at every stage of their journey, from curious beginners to experienced authors deep into a manuscript. Led by knowledgeable instructors and grounded in a supportive, community-first approach, our programs focus on skill-building, accountability, and creative confidence. Whether you are committing to a multi-week course or joining us for a focused workshop, you will find a welcoming space built on our philosophy of no writer left behind.

How Our Classes Work

Our courses and workshops are offered in seasonal terms throughout the year: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each term features a fresh lineup of courses or workshops, with registration opening ahead of the start of the season.

We offer two main learning formats to support different writing goals, schedules, and learning styles. Both courses and workshops are:
  • Led by experienced instructors
  • Available online and in person, depending on the program
  • Designed to encourage participation, discussion, and growth
  • Open to writers of all experience levels

Courses

Courses are structured learning experiences that allow writers to explore a topic in depth over time.

WHAT TO EXPECT
  • Multi-week formats, typically 4 to 10 weeks
  • Offered during daytime or evening hours
  • A mix of instruction, discussion, and practical exercises
  • Time to build skills, develop projects, and grow alongside a cohort

Courses are ideal if you are looking for consistency, accountability, and the chance to deepen your craft over several weeks.

Long-Term Courses

Some offerings are designed for writers who want sustained support over months rather than weeks.

Chapter by Chapter: 10 Month Manuscript Project
A long-term program built around accountability, community, and momentum. Writers meet regularly to develop their manuscript through structured discussions, skill-building sessions, and workshops focused on feedback and revision. This program is best suited for writers actively working on a draft and ready to commit to regular writing and critique.

Workshops

Workshops are shorter, intensive learning experiences designed to spark creativity and deliver focused insight.

WHAT TO EXPECT
  • One-day or single-session formats
  • Highly interactive and discussion-driven
  • Opportunities for feedback and group engagement
  • A focused exploration of a specific topic, genre, or skill

Workshops are ideal if you want to try something new, dive into a specific craft element, or learn from an instructor without a long-term commitment.
