AUTHENTICITY READING SERVICE

Get your manuscript publication ready.

WHAT IS A AUTHENTICITY READ?

An authenticity read is done to read for potentially offensive content, misrepresentation, stereotypes, bias, lack of understanding, etc. The reader creates a report for an author and/or publisher outlining the problems that they find in a piece of work and offer solutions on how to fix them. By doing this, the literary quality of a work can be substantially improved.

An authenticity reader will often come from a member of specific Nation or community that the author is writing about. They will include academic as well as personal experience in their reading. It is suggested that an author hire more than one authenticity reader, due to the subjective nature of writing. Each person, no matter where they come from, are shaped by their own experiences, and no two experiences will be the same.

HOW IT WORKS

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT
This is not an editorial service. We recommend getting your manuscript as clean and polished as you can before getting a authenticity read. When you are ready:

1. Review the list of available authenticity readers for the type of sensitivity read you require.
2. Contact us so we can make sure the reader is available. Upon confirmation, you will be directed to pay the fee.
2. Pay the fee.
3. Submit the manuscript for review to [email protected]

Please note, you do not need to submit your whole manuscript. If you only have a small section that needs reading, submit that. Fees are based on word count.

After your work has been reviewed you will receive a written report from the authenticity reader on their thoughts on the subject matter. If there are any problem areas, they will point them out and offer suggestions for improvement or things for you to consider.

READING FEES
  • All packages have a $50 set up fee.
  • Starts at .025 cents per word.  ($250/10,000 words) This is for a first read and a round of follow up questions.
