   Need a place that understands you?
   Come and join the AWCS Reality is Optional Writing Club - RIO.
   Create a writing club the way you want it.
   Youth led, adult mentored.
   Guest speakers, writing games, friends and creativity. Ages 17 and under.
   Play with your words — all you need is a notebook and pen.

 

Next Meeting: June 27, 2011
Role playing games and story telling. This is a special dinner meeting as it is our last regular meeting until September. Start time 5 pm — bring your own dishes. See you there!

September 2011
RIO starts again in September with 2 meetings each month. Yes - it's twice the RIO fun! Meetings happen on the second and last Monday of every month. September dates are Monday 12 and 26 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm at the Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society in beautiful Calgary, Alberta – in the AWCS Library. Download poster

Fees: Full membership (18 meetings) $60/year (includes subscription to FreeFall magazine.
Youth membership (18 meetings) $40/year. Youth Membership has all the perks of a full membership and to all Reality is Optional meetings, but does not include a subscription to FreeFall magazine.

Youth Theatre Camp July 25-30, 2011. 9 am-4 pm
NB: Special times on performance day – July 30
$150 Inglewood and Ramsay residents; non-residents $175

Want to write, create and act in a play, and then present it at the Inglewood Sun Fest?

Kids aged 9-15 are invited to join Kim Firmston (AWCS Reality is Optional Kids Writing Club) and Mary-Jean Uszy (Theatre Professional Extraordinaire) for this One week theatre camp

Acting not your thing? There are 3 tech positions — an opportunity to learn the basics of back stage and tech support.
