Collaborative Writing Camp

Grade 7-12 (entering)

July 20-24, 9 AM - 4 PM, In-Person

We are located at 1721 29 Ave SW, Unit 460. Gotham Classroom.

Do you have a young writer at home who dreams of being published?

Have them come and write a book with other youth writers! Together, they will come up with a concept (short story collections, novel, choose your own adventure), create the characters, world, and plot, write the sections individually, and then edit together until perfect. Campers will also learn how to self-publish on Amazon's KDP platform and create all their own art, back cover synopsis, and assets. When we're not writing, we will have fabulous adventures, play beach volleyball (poorly most likely), visit the library, and get up to other shenanigans. Youth led. Adult mentored. Join us today!

Please Note:

that campers need to have an electronic device to write on and that can connect to our Google Doc. Additionally, this is a camp for more advanced writers. Therefore, writers should have taken at least one course in creative writing OR have been writing on their own for at least 6 months.

Your youth will need the following social skills to take part:

  1. Able to follow basic requests (go there, sit and listen, work on X)
  2. Work well with others (we are a very collaborative programs - so this skill is essential)
  3. Be polite and respectful to other participants, the instructors, and volunteers.

And finally - your youth needs to WANT to be part of this program. We don't have the expertise or time to soothe VERY anxious youth who don't wish to be in the program.

The book produced will be available for purchase on Amazon approximately a month after camp (our editor needs time). We will also hold a book launch, likely in October.
