The session starts with an overview of mental health frameworks, breaking down a systems view of wellbeing. This helps us create the context to talk about mental health and the healing process. Then, we’ll dive into an adventure using the Tarot, exploring aspects of our personality that emerge along the path. Our route covers typical character arcs, and examples of strategies to progress through the phases, highlighting the emotional shifts to look for that signal our growth.
This program takes place in person at the Alexandra Writers’ Centre (AWCS), on the 4th floor of cSpace Marda Loop (map).
Stacey Perlin is the Chairperson of the Perlin Foundation for Wellbeing and Lead Facilitator for BlissFest Labs, guiding a community of volunteers, artists, and professionals through arts & culture projects that support the local mental health ecosystem and healthy brain development, as well as promote mental health literacy. She brings her lived experience as someone who’s regaining her authentic self after years of substance abuse, bankruptcy, homelessness, domestic violence, poverty, and abuse. Working towards healing every day, Ms. Perlin frames complex conversations with humour, compassion, and research-backed observations.
