Bio Profile: Vicki Chatham
Term: January 2011

As a child, Vicki Chatham was the story teller for friends and family. Later, her three children became a demanding source for stories and she wrote a novel for her teenage daughter. It wasn't until she came to Canada that Vicki became really serious about her writing.

She had articles published in Dogs All, In Touch and Synchronicity magazines before joining the Alexandra Writers Centre in 1997, where she took full advantage of the range of courses and workshops offered. These included the Tutor course and she now facilitates an 8-week Introductory Creative Writing course and has taught a Saturday workshop on writing romance. Her past Board positions have been Membership, Assistant Newsletter Editor followed by a 2-year stint as Editor. She currently serves in the position of Interim Membership Director.

Since becoming a member of AWCS, Vicki's short stories have appeared in Green's Magazine, FreeFall and the newsletter of the Calgary Association of the Romance Writers of America. Her articles in the CaRWA newsletter have also been widely published in other RWA Chapter Newsletters. More articles have also appeared in the Calgary Herald and Creaturesall. Her most recent short story will be e-published in the Winter 2011 edition of Pages of Stories and she is currently working on her second novel, a Regency Romance.

When not writing, Vicki enjoys reading, yoga, volunteering at Spruce Meadows and letting her dog Jay take her for a daily walk.
